A daring dacoity has allegedly been committed at an expatriate & house at Shamaspur village, Jalalpur union, under Moglabazar Thana of South Surma Upazila in Sylhet district at small hours Sunday.
It has been learnt from both locals and Moglabazar Thana a group of 13/14 armed dacoits raided Soudi Arabia expatriate Meheruzzaman Muhit and Rezwan Ahmed Nipu’s house by breaking open collapsible gates. The dacoits broke open the inner bolt of the double unit quarters and kept all the inmates at gun point. The dacoits looted Tk. 1,70,000 in cash, gold ornaments worth Tk. over 16 lakh and other booties. The looted property is worth over 25 lakh taka both in cash and kind. A case has been lodged with Moglabazar Thana (Police Station) in this connection.
