Law and order enforces have received some shocking information after interrogating the arrested four members of a gang of robbers following exchange of fire with the police at Gournadi in Barishal.
According to the source, the police have started the process of arresting the remaining members of the group and bringing them under the law.
After interrogating it was revealed that they used to call "robbery" a "function" and going to work to organize a robbery as ‘participation in the programme”, police said.
Additional Superintendent of District Police Sudipta Sarkar said that have been working on the robbery incidents in different places of the district for 3 months and 23 days on the instructions of District Superintendent of Police Maruf Hossain Sir." Following this, on the basis of secret information, the district DB and police arrested 4 robbers by conducting an operation in the area under Gournadi police station of Barishal on early Monday.
He said that they used to habituate in code language for committing a crime. In their language, it is a function. And when they contact each other to go to another party (to commit robbery), they say it like this – & quot; There is a ceremony, we have to go to work".
Again, if someone is angry with someone, leave " ceremony& quot;. As a result, even if these things are said openly, there is no chance for anyone to have any doubt. He said that according to the information available so far, the entire reicky of the scene was done before going to the ceremony in the language of the arrestees.
Mizan is basically an expert in that work. They also use hired vehicles, especially pickups and trucks, during the robbery.
Barek Sikder and Rafiqul manage and operate the vehicles. And Selim alias Cutter Selim manages the iron grill, cutting grill of the site from outside the house, cutting the locks. Thus, each member of this group is skilled in each type of task.
Police said there were 12 cases against Kataro Selim and six against Mizan among those arrested. There are several cases against other members of the party in different police stations of the country.
The police official further told that not only did they organize one robbery at a time; preliminary information said that members of the group organized several robberies at once. For example, when a robbery was organized in Madaripur, when the locals and the police reached there, we have information that the members of the robber gang leaving that spot later carried out the robbery at a nearby place.
