Severe cyclonic storm ‘Hud Hud’ over the East Central Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay moved slightly west-northwest-wards and now lies over the East Central Bay and adjoining West Central Bay.
It was centring at 6pm on Thursday about 990 kms south-southwest of Chittagong port, 905 kms south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 930 kms south-southeast of Mongla port and 910 kms south of Payra port.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction, said a Met office special bulletin.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the storm centre is about 90 kph rising to 110 kph in gusts/squalls. Sea will remain very high.
