Chittagong WASA signs deals with the South Korean and Japan based two contracting firms for implementation of Karnaphuli Water Supply Project (Phase-2) of Rangunia in Chittagong at Radison Blu hotel in city yesterday morning. Kolan Global Corporation of south Korea and Kobota construction corporation of Japan signed the deal for implementing the phase-2 of KWSP. Managing Director of CWASA Engr. AKM Fazlullah and Mr.Ming Jhang signed the agreement on respective sides.
Before signing the deal, CWASA Managing Director AKM Fazlullah, Deputy Managing Director(Admn) Golam Hossain, Consultant of Japanese NGS company Mr. steven Masler, Project Director of KWSP-2 Kazi Yakub Sirajdowlla, CWASA Board Member Solaiman seth, Vice president of Kolan Global Corporation Mr. Han, General Manager of Kobota Construction corporation Mr. Sashuki Sukehito and CWASA chief engineer Jahurul Hoque spoke on the occasion. The deal signed for Tk.478 cr out of total expendistures of Tk.4491 cr.
Out of the total estimated expenditures, JICA will provide Tk.3853 cr, GOB to provide Tk.844 cr and CWASA Tk.23 cr. The total project will be completed by 36 months, CWASA sources said. After completion of the project, cWASA will produce 14.3 cr liters water per day. The project is being implemented with loan agreement of JICA , sources said.
