The formal opening of the CVO Petro Chemical Refinery Ltd of Chittagong launched at Nasirabad factory premises on Wednesday last . Industries Minister Amir HossainAmu inaugurated the factory productions as Chief Guest. President of Chittagong City Awami League ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and the General Secretary AZM Nasir were present in it as special guests.
The launching ceremony of the factory was presided by its Chief Advisor Moinuddin Khan Badar MP. Among others, Chairman of Petro Chemical factory Shamsul Alam Shamim,Managing Director AHM Habibullah, Chief Auditor Ahamadul Hoque Hasan, Deputy Director of the Project Nizamuddin Mahmud Hossain and the Managing Director of Bangladesh Petrolieum Corporation Kudrate Elahi spoke among others in the opening ceremony. The chief guest in his brief deliverations said Chittagong Vegetable Oil Industries Ltd was renamed as CVO Petro Chemical Refinery Ltd with new device of production technology aimed at increasing the productions. This refinery plant was approved by the Mineral Sources ministry .
The expected daily productions is about 150 metric tons per day. This refinery will use 50 000 M/tons gas condensent as raw material of the factory, he added.
This chemical refinery factory willproduce Petrol, diesel, Octane, MTT andThinner , factory sources said. The chief guest Amir Hossain Amu MP further said present govt became possible to generate 10000 MW power from previous 3000 MW during the tenure of last 5 years which is historical progress of the govt.
He further disclosed that the factory will be capable to income Tk.50 to 60 cr per annum with employment of huge manpower.
Later the chief guest inaugurated the production activity by pushing switch, sources said.
