Kushiara River dam cutting and sand selling are going on freely at Nabiganj Upazila in Habiganj. The dominant party of the village Kasba, Nabiganj Upazila is lifting sands up from the river and selling them away without any hindrance.
Because of this illegal sand selling Government is losing the revenue of cores. It is complained by locals that bribing some dishonest staffs the dominants are doing this but Upazila Administration denies this complain and assures to take necessary steps.
On the other hand at the time of flood, hundreds of houses of Dighbalolk Union drown under water. Though it is a risky place then how the sands of the river adjacent to this village can is sold out openly and the silent activities of administration are mysterious to the locals.
Tofazzal Hossain, General Secretary of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon (BAPA) in Habiganj brunch said some dishonest people is destroying the charm of of our Riverine Bangladesh by their illegal activities but he is optimistic that administration will be aware about this matter.
