Customs Intelligence on Wednesday recovered import-restricted 450 cartons of cigarettes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital.
The USA 303 brand cigarettes were about 90,000 pieces worth Tk 27 lakh.
Tipped-off, customs launched a drive and
found the cigarettes after checking three baggages that were left abandoned.
The agency is suspecting that those luggage were carried by a passenger, who remained unidentified by Sri Lankan Airlines, arrived from Dubai, UAE at 11:45 am.
A case has been filed in this connection.
