Officials of Benapole Customs staged demonstrations at Benapole Land
Port protesting at the attack on some customs officials by immigration police on Wednesday .
The customs officials claimed that five officials of Benapole Customs were wounded in attack by the immigration police over checking of baggage of two passport holders who entered Benapole from India in the evening.
Wearing black badges, the customs officials at Benapole staged demonstrations at the land port protesting at the attack.
Customs employees also formed a human chain demanding punishments to the police men responsible for the attack.
Customs official Nazrul Islam Bangali told that the immigration police men swooped on customs officials wounding customs officials M Farhad, Rashed Ali, Subhashish Modok and me following searching of baggage of a passport holder on Wednesday evening.
Omar Sharif, officer in-charge, Benapole immigration police told that customs officials and the police locked in scuffle over demanding bribe to a passport holder by the customs officials.
