Chattogram Bureau :
Chattogram Custom House Commissioner Fakhrul Alam has inaugurated the system on Sunday. Customs Commissioner told that as a result of the automation, tariffs on the baggage of passengers coming from international destinations including Middle East, India and other international destinations can pay the duty tax to the Sonali Bank’s airfreight unit.
Earlier, passengers had to pay the tariffs to the Sonali Bank adjacent to Chattogram Custom House by covering a long way and through heavy traffic. In the case of shipping, many registers were stored at the delivery level. As a result, the shipment was delayed and there was a chance of fraud.
As part of the government’s creation of digital Bangladesh, the exit note or automation system was introduced at the airport through the Airfreight unit’s Office Code 304 at the ASYCUDA World System. This will ensure trade facilitation as well as increase revenue collection and reduce the harassment on foreign commuters to receive goods. The traffic of commodities will also reduced. Kazi Mahmood Imam Bilu said that due to the issuance of the exit Note, the officer who will be at the delivery point of the cargo product will be able to check online whether the duty has been paid or not.
Additional Commissioner of the Custom House Kazi Mohammad Ziauddin, Joint Commissioner Md Mahbub Hasan, Deputy Commissioner Md Riadul Islam, Assistant Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Tanvir Ahmed, Manager of Sonali Bank Airport Branch Md Tohidul Gani Chowdhury, cargo Supervisor of Shah Amanat International Airport Kazi Khairul Kabir and Chattogram Customs C&F Agent Association Joint Secretary Kazi Mahmood Imam Bilu were present at the inauguration programme.
