The curtain of inaugural Bangladesh Youth Games will be dropped today (Friday). On the occasion, a fabulous closing ceremony will be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the games and Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith is expected to present in the closing ceremony as the chief the guest in the evening.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder and Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) President and Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq will also present in the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony will begin with march-past with athletes of eight divisions will enter into the ground. One minute silence will also be observed in memory those who died in Nepal air crash. Audio visuals of different games including program highlights of the inauguration ceremony will also be shown in the closing ceremony.
The 100m athletics event for boys’ and girls’ will be held on the closing day and after the event prizes will be handed over to the fastest boys’ and girls’. Cultural show and display also have been included in the closing ceremony.
The U-17 athletes represented eight divisions in football, hockey, kabaddi, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu, shooting, archery, badminton, boxing, chess, judo, karate, taekwondo and squash.
Earlier, the final phase of the Youth Games formally inaugurated on March 10.
