Ahead of the series against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh are currently suffering with the situation of the players as most of the senior cricketers are injured and ruled out of the series.
The injuries of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal are major cases and they are set to be out of action for few months. Tamim will miss the Zimbabwe series while Shakib will miss both Zimbabwe and Windies series at home. ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is all set to miss the Zimbabwe series due to hand injury.
Meanwhile, BCB’s Cricket Operation Committee’s chairman Akram Khan has informed that 14-15 players from the national team are currently injured and it has turned into a serious worrying issue for the Tigers.
Akram told reporters: “Currently 14-15 players are injured. This is a very serious issue for us, because we don’t have many option. Now we have to take every step carefully.”
According to the chairman, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan and Mohammad Mithun are among the players who are not fit at the moment. Mominul Haque is suffering from hand injury while pacer Rubel Hossain is also in the list.
However, Akram is still hopeful that except Shakib and Tamim, most of the players will be available for the Zimbabwe series.
