A teacher of Cumilla University has been relieved of the duty of house tutor on Thursday for posting remarks on Facebook in favour of ongoing quota reform movement.
Sources said, a group of students of Nazrul hall, including leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed a written complaint against Akbar Hossain, house tutor of the hall, for posting remarks in support of quota reform movement on July 3.
Following the complaint, the authorities
concerned took the action against the teacher. A four-member committee headed by GM Moniruzzaman, Dean of Arts Faculty, was formed to investigate the matter on Thursday.
“The committee will start their work in this regard next week,” said GM Moniruzzaman.
