Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said practicing of culture is the best weapon towards combating militancy from the society.
“We have to promote cultural practice along with expansion of education to root out communalism from the country,” he said this on Thursday while speaking at the inaugural function of a seven-day long programme marking the International Museum Day.
National Museum arranged the programme at its Kobi Sufiya Kamal auditorium with Museum Trustee Board President and cultural personality Hashem Khan in the chair.
First Director General of National Museum Dr Enamul Haque, International Council of Museum Representative Dr Prem Sing Basnia and Museum Director General Fayzul Latif Chowdhury, among others, spoke.
On behalf of the museum authority, Noor received several artifacts from people.
Director General Dr Enamul Haque was also honoured for his outstanding contribution to overall development of the museum.
