The election to the Chittagong University Journalist Association ( CUJA) for electing the executive body for 2016-17 consecutive year, scheduled to be held on May 31.
CUJA executive body in a general meeting took the decision where they announced the body would be elected by member’s voting and would take their charge till December 31.
As per CUJA constitution, the body should have formed for one year, side by side the body would be compelled to hold election by December 31 each year.
Following the controversial act, the member passed a regulation, announcing the article no 14 as ruled out for the consecutive year.
Proctor Ali Azgor Chowdhury as the Chief Election Commissioner along with two other assistant commissioners, will take charge, said CUJA incumbent president Abdullah-al-Faruque. The collection of nomination began yesterday and the last date of the withdrawal is May 29.
