Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) held a rally on Thursday morning in protest against the attack on a journalist while on duty at a rally organiSed by 14-party alliance on Wednesday evening at Laldighi ground here.
They also issued ultimatum to the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner for arrest of the miscreants, responsible for assaulting the journalist, within next Sunday.
They also formed a human chain in this connection in front of the Chittagong Press Club in the afternoon.
CUJ President Ejaj Yusufi declared that all activists of ruling Awami League’s student body Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), who were involved in the assault, should be arrested as soon as possible.
Kalim Sorwer and Mohosin Chowdhury, President and General Secretary of the Press Club, Hasan Ferdous, General Secretary of CUJ, Abu Taher, Vice-President of BFUJ, Shahidul Alam and Mostaque Ahmed, Enamul Haq and Chowdhury Farid and Aninda Titu spoke in the rally, among others.
