Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) in a press statement yesterday expressed resentment over the indecent comments to journalists by the lawmaker of Banskhali constituency Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury .
President and General secretary of CUJ Reaz Haider Chowdhury and Md. Ali respectively in the statement said in mass hearing of ACC at Banskhali, the said lawmaker requested the ACC officials to control the journalists with slang language which is totally undesirable. The CUJ leaders urge him to seek pardon from the journalists. The statement was told that when the journalists are focusing the present ongoing activities of the present govt aimed at fulfilling the dream of Sonar Banagla of Bangabandhu, at that time the lawmaker ‘s behavior towards journalists is undersireable and sorrowful.
They said the said lawmaker undermined the social statusof the journalists. The journo leaders vows to launch movement against him for his naked behavior towards journalists.
Earlier the said legislator threatened to kill a journalist but later he compelled to seek apology from the journalist community following the movement of the journalists.
