The biennial election of Chittagong Union of Journalists was held at Chittagong Press club auditorium yesterday with zeal and enthusiasm of the voters.
Following the decision of annual general meeting held yesterday at union office, the time of casting of vote extended upto 8 pm which earlier scheduled upto 5 pm. Due to late hour’s casting , the result of the election could not be declared before midnight, a CUJ election commission sources said.
Chairman of election commission Moazzamul Hoque told the media that four candidates viz. Ejaz Yousufi, Nazimuddin Shamal, Nurul Amin and Reaz Haider are contesting for presidential post . Mr. Ratan Kanti Devashish has been elected senior vice president uncontested, sources said.
