Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) is going to organize the 9th International Forum on Strategic Technology (IFOST 2014) on the 21 to 23 October, 2014 at Long Beach Hotel of Cox’s Bazar, a city of immense natural beauty, says a press release.
Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid, MP will remain present as Chief Guest in the inauguration ceremony of the conference on 21st October, 2014.
Ex-advisor of Caretaker government and Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of CUET Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam will present there as special guest.
Moreover, Chairman (State Minister) of Bnagladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. Dr. A. K. Azad Chowdhury will be present as Chief Guest in the closing ceremony on 23 October, 2014. Education Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice Chancellor of CUET Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam and Pro- Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam will be present there as special guest.
The International Forum on Strategic Technology (IFOST) is an organization promoting multi-level collaboration among its member institutes, currently consisting of eight educational and research institutes from Korea, Russia, China, Mongolia, Indonesia, including Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) from Bangladesh. Its member universities are University of Ulsan (Korea), Novosibisk State Technical University (Russia), Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia), Harbin University Science and Technology (China), Mongolian University of Science and Technology (Mongolia), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Bangladesh), and University Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), and one research institute, Ulsan Technopark (Korea).
Each year IFOST organises and sponsors an international conference, hosted by member institutes in turn and this year Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is going to arrange the conference.
The Forum aims not only for an international conference to link academia but also makes a platform to link between academia and industry including policy planners on strategic technology.
The conference is expected to be a prestigious platform of getting together a huge number of local and foreign researchers, scientists, practitioners and engineers.
Around 200 foreign delegates along with 300 local researchers, scientists will participate in the conference.
