The teachers and students of Chittagong University (CU), made a protest with massive demonstration at the premises of Chattagram Press Club, demanding their recent alleged insult to Professor Dr. Masud Mahmud by a wing of the University of Science and Technology (USTC).
Prof Dr. Masud Mahmud, former English teacher of Chittagong University along with teacher and adviser of USTC, is alleged by a group of USTC students claiming that Masud Mahmud made a sexual excitement by promoting many sexual fermented speeches.
In this connection, USTC students gave a charged-sheet to the several administration fields including Vice chancellor of USTC, police commissioner and Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Deputy Minister for Education. In the meantime due to scrutinizing the charged-sheet was alienated to the Bijay Kumar, deputy commissioner of CMP.
Dr. Masud Mahmud said that it is extremely unfortunate that students have been protested against me by giving an alleged paper as a perpetrator”
“It’s a baseless allegation whereas there have no clear evidences on me and I can clearly assure you that there has a notable wing who is the responsible for promoting these propagandas”, he added.
“I have been teaching as a professional teacher for many years at CU, North South, USTC, as well. But it’s a matter of great regret that at the eleventh hour of my career I have to bear such an insulting allegation even though by my canoodled students”, he concluded.
Professor Moinul Haque Chowdhury, the chairman of English department said in this connection, “it’s a sorrowful matter that students are protested on Dr. Masud Mahmud. It’s noticeable that I have been accomplished with him for last 40 years as once I was a discipline of him, lastly I became his colleague as a teacher of CU too. So by a scrutinised thinking I can assure you that he never can commit such an act”
Professor Maimuna, Chairman of English department, University of USTC, said personally I believe it’s a plan taken by a wing to humiliate Dr. Masud Mahmud. Because I know Masud Mahmud as my teacher and colleague as well.
Bijoy Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of CMP, acknowledged that the charged-sheet was alienated to him, but he was consented to talk nothing over phone in this regard.
