The students of Institute of Education and Research (IER) of Chittagong University (CU) staged a human chain demanding to take the first year examination of 2018-19 academic year which was postponed due to corona pandemic.
around 11am on Sunday. The students then handed over a memorandum to the proctor of the university.
The memorandum said that first year examination of the Institution was postponed from the 18th March last year when the university was closed due to corona. On October 18 last year, students handed a memorandum over to the registrar of the university to take the examination in accordance with the health rules.
The memorandum further said that when the students contacted the institute about the examination last November, the institute informed them that no decision has been taken about the examination for the 2018-19 session though they have already spent 24 months in the first year.
Contracted, CU Proctor Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan said that we are sincerely trying to resolve the issue.
Acting Director of IER, Prof. Mohammad Bashir Ahmed said, “We are ready to take the exam. We can take the exam with the permission of the university administration.
