A student of Chattogram University (CU) lost his both legs while failed to board a running shuttle train and was run over at Sholoshahar Railway Station in Chattogram on Wednesday morning.
The victim has been identified as Rabiul, 20, a post-graduate student of the University’s Sociology Department.
Besides, Marufa Akhtar, 18, another student of the university, was also injured in the incident.
Sholoshahar Railway Station Master Md Shahabuddin said that the incident took place at 8:00am in the morning, while Rabiul Islam was standing at the platform wearing headphone in his ears.
The victim was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost ASI Alauddin Talukdar said that the victim is now under treatment.
Besides, Marufa was given primary treatment. Her injury is not critical, he added.
