The probe body formed over the obstruction of Md Amdadul Haque — a lecturer aspirant of zoology department at Chittagong University (CU) — from appearing in the recruitment viva voce exam on Sun1day recommended that authorities give fresh examinations and cancel the previous one.
The committee submitted a report to CU Vice Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury and identified three students having involvement with the incident.
He said the university will act as per the recommendation of the probe body.
Amdadul Haque, who received a prime minister’s gold medal for his academic achievements, was barred by some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League on March 27 when he came to the university to attend a zoology department’s lecturer recruitment examination.
On March 31, Amdadul lodged a case with a Chattogram court, accusing seven BCL men of criminal intimidation, kidnap, wrongful confinement, theft and attempt to murder.
On April 18, he filed a writ petition with the High Court regarding the incident, following which the HC issued an injunction on the recruitment to the post.
