Chittagong University (CU) First Year admission examination for the 2021-22 academic year will begin on Tuesday (August 16) with the A-Unit exam and will continue till August 24.
This time, 1 lakh 43 thousand 727 applications have been submitted against 4 thousand 926 seats in the admission test. Among them, the number of candidates in ‘A’ unit is 54 thousand 106, in ‘B’ unit 35 thousand 779, in ‘C’ unit 11 thousand 60, in ‘D’ unit 39 thousand 392, in ‘B-1’ unit 1 thousand 579 and 1 thousand 811 candidates have applied in ‘D-1’ unit.
Security has been beefed up in the campus around the entrance exam. Apart from this, with zero tolerance to prevent ragging, the university authorities have increased CCTV cameras and adequate lighting at important points of the campus for the safety of the students. Moreover, for the convenience of female guardians, the university has arranged for rest facilities, installation of temporary toilets and supply of clean water in four student halls.
On the other hand, all kinds of posters, banners have been banned inside the campus as usual in order not to create any kind of unrest during the examination. Security measures are arranged at several levels to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. 700 law and order forces will work during the admission test. Apart from the police, RAB, plainclothes police, university’s own security personnel, members of BNCC and rover scouts will also be engaged in security work.
The authorities have decided to stop all academic activities during the examination to facilitate the smooth conduct of the admission examination. All classes will be suspended from August 14 to August 25 and all examinations from August 16 to August 24.
Railway authorities have applied for 11 pairs of shuttles to facilitate the transportation of admission candidates, but 9 pairs of shuttles have been approved by the railway authorities.
Proctor. Dr. Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan told that we have made all kinds of preparations to complete the admission test properly. New schedule of shuttle train has been given for the convenience of students. Security has been beefed up. Hopefully the admission test will be completed smoothly without any untoward incident.
