UNB, Chittagong :
An examination of Communication and Journalism Department of Chittagong University was suspended on Thursday as a section of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists clashed with police following demonstrations for allowing a suspended activist to sit in the exam.
Around six months ago, the CU authorities suspended Md Abdullah Al Kaiser, a student of the department, on charge of attacking a rival group of the student organisation on the campus.
The examination of course of 401 of 4th year
student was scheduled to start at 10:00am. Over one hundred BCL activists gathered in front of the department in the morning for allowing Kaiser to sit in the examination, said Abul Kalam Azad, chairman of the department.
“At one stage, we were compelled to suspend Thursday’s examination,” he said.
The BCL activists also obstructed the other examinees at different points on the campus while heading towards the exam halls, said witnesses.
