Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong city unit and a faction of Chittagong University unit BCL demanded resignation and punishment of the principal of Chittagong Medical College (CMC) for making a “wrong” autopsy report on the death of Diaz Irfan Chowdhury. The demand was made at a human-chain held at Chittagong Press Club on Monday. The BCL men also burnt an effigy of the CMC principal after the demonstration programme.
While addressing the programme, Chittagong City unit BCL President Emran Ahmed Emu claimed that the bruises found on Diaz’s body clearly said that it was not a suicidal incident. “But the CMC principal tactfully made a wrong autopsy report which was rejected by BCL earlier”, he added.CU unit BCL General Secretary Fazly Rabby Sujan alleged that the primary report of the second autopsy prepared by Dhaka Medical College Hospital raised questions about the first autopsy report.
