A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University Unit Vice President (VP) was sent to jail upon arrest on Monday over the hacking a fellow and beating of another.
Arrested in front of the Abdur Rab hall, Mohammad Mamun is accused in two cases over the attacks.
VP Tayeful Haque Topu was hacked on October 29 and Organising Secretary Imtiaz Ovi beaten on December 9, said Officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station Belal Mohammad Jahangir.
Mamun is one of those organising demonstrations seeking justice for BCL leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhury whose hanging body was found in his house on November 20.
