The 39th board meeting of Chittagong WASA was held on Saturday last at its Board Room with Chairman Dr. Engr.SM Nazrul Islam in the chair.
The meeting discussed the six agendas of themeeting and reviewed the minutes of the 38th Board meeting.
Sources said the meeting reviewed the income, expenditures statement , statements of chief revenue officer and CWASA magistrate and the progressof the ongoing WASA projects.
The meeting decided to realize the huge amount of outstanding water bills in three phases through issuing reminder letters to the consumers.
The meeting also decided to snap the water connections if failed to pay the arrear bills by the consumers despite three reminder letters in phases. The board also asked the CWASA management to place the list of the large amount defaulters before the next board meeting.
Among others, Additional Secretary of Finance Ministry RM Nazmus Sakib, addl. Secretary of Local Govt Ministry Mrs. Nasrin Akhter, Md. Solaiman seth, Showkat HossainFCA, Managing Director of CWASA Engr. Fazlullah, DeputyManaging Director of WASA, Commercial Manager, Chief Engineer were present in the meeting, a CWASA release said.
