After the suspension of the production of fertilizers for over two years, the production of Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Factory will begin on February 7 with ammonia.
The factory will start to produce urea fertilizer from February 12, said a handout of PID.
The production of the fertilizer of the factory was suspended due to technical glitch on January 31, 2015. Later, the authorities concerned took an initiative to launch the production service of it after repairs done on its machineries by an Italian company twice.
Besides, a new cooling tower was established in the factory. After the reopening, some 1.5 thousand metric tons of urea fertilizer will be produced from the factory. Besides, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) on Tuesday said some 8,13,167 metric tons of urea fertilizer have been piled in different silos of BCIC.
