Chittagong Bureau :Transport workers have suspended their indefinite strike in Chittagong after security forces assured them of rescuing their missing leader Nurul Islam.Islam could not be traced until Friday afternoon after several armed men allegedly abducted him on Wednesday night from the city’s EPZ area.Bangladesh Road Transport Workers’ Federation started enforcing an indefinite strike from Thursday evening, causing immense suffering to the commuters.But it later called off the strike after police assured them of doing everything to find Islam out.Islam is the General Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Human Hauler Workers’ Union and Cultural Affairs Secretary of the BRTWF.Mrinal Chowdhury, the organisation’s east zone chief, told that they would wait until Friday evening .”We’ll hold a meeting and decide on our next course of action after that,” he said.
