Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MP on Friday night said that the present government has taken steps to turn Chittagong into a green city utilising the natural prospects of hills and sea in Chittagong.
“No other city in the world is as nice as Chittagong. It is surrounded by sea in one side and by hill in the other. The present government has taken steps to set up green city with the sea and hills”, he added.
The minister said this while addressing the 130 years founding anniversary of city’s Kazem Ali High School.
Addressing the function as the chief guest, the minister said the government has also taken measures to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to solve the gas crisis in Chittagong.
“Besides, development of two economic zones in Mirsarai and Anwoara upazilas is under process. It will turn Chittagong into a real green city”, he viewed.
Secretary General of Jatiya Party (JP) Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu MP, M A Latif MP, Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) chairman M Abdus Salam, school managing committee president Syed Omar Faruk, JP leader Solaiman Alam Sheth, panel mayor HAsan Mahmood Hasni and ward councilor Sayed Golam Haidar Mintu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
