Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said port city of Chittagong will be turned into real commercial of the country and centre point of the economy.
He said Prime Minister SheikhHasina is introducing Chittagong abroad as a commercial capital .He disclosed it while addressing the opening ceremony of the month long Chittagong Internatioanal trade fair on Tuesday.
The commerce minister in hisbrief inaugural address said beside the existing ongoing development projects , construction of tunnel under karnaphuli river, elevated express way, coal turbine power plant at moheskhali, exclusive economic zones at Anowara, Mirsarai have been undertaken by the present govt.
He also mentioned that the ever 5 star global chain hotel also opned in Chittagong . He blasted the demand of any midterm election and national polls will be held as per constitution in 2019. He also denounced the possibility of transferring head offices of Tea board, Petroleum corporation and the international Tea auction center from Chittagong.
The in his concluding speech criticized the role of the oppositions for calling unjustified hartal,blockade programs and killing of innocent people through hurling petrol bombs and other explosives.
