The week long Income Tax Fair-16, concluded in Chittagong on Monday night with earnings of more than TK 507crore. Four Zonal Tax Commissioner Offices in Chittagong organised the fair at city’s GEC convention centers for eligible citizens to pay income tax in fair and hassle-free peaceful manner.
A total of 18,349 taxpayers submitted their return during the fair, organizer sources said.Besides, 2,901 new more taxpayers also submitted their return in the stalls during the fair.
The income tax officials rendered their assistance the citizens through the 18 stalls on income tax, registering or re-registering, e-TIN numbers, e- TIN certificates, and calculation of income taxes and in filling out income tax return forms10 am to 5 pm during last seven day.
The Janata Bank Limited and Sonali Bank Limited set up two separate electronic payment booths on the fair premises for helping the taxpayers. Tax Appellate Zonal Commissioner Mahbub Hossain, addressed the closing session.
Bazlul Kabir Bhuiyan, Member Secretary of Tax Fair told media that a total of two lakh 73 thousand 201 people visited the fair this year.
