Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials in Chittagong on Wednesday filed a departmental case against the owner of a garment accessories manufacturing factory for misusing bond facilities by selling imported raw materials in the local market.
Jakir Hossain, Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, Chittagong wing said the firm, Liberty Enterprise, located at Fateyabad in Hathazari upazila, imported 3,560 tonnes of raw materials during the last six months worth about Taka 46 crore, under bond facility, a duty free facility for importing goods on condition of export.
However, the owner of the organization sold those goods in local market misusing the bond facility. A case was filed for allegedly evading duty worth about Tk 11 crore.
