Sylhet Correspondent :
Train communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet were restored after one and half hours of suspension following derailment of a freight train in Akhaura railway junction on Thursday morning.
Abdul Sattar, officer-in-charge of Akhaura Government Railway Police Station, said wheels of three bogies of a Dhaka-bound freight train from Chittagong veered off the track around 10:20 am, halting train movement on the Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes.
Later, the train services on the two routes resumed after a relief train salvaged the bogies around 12.00 pm, the OC added.
