A total of 44 students of junior level have been awarded certificates on language learning from Chittagong Press Club on Sunday.
In this connection a programme was held at VIP lounge in the afternoon. Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University, was present as the chief guest during the programme.
Meanwhile, on 2 August last, Press club started a four month long English and Bangla language course programme titled ‘Shuddu Banan O Abritti Kormoshala” (Appropriate Spelling and Recitation Workshop) and English for Life.
M Faruk Taher, reciter and Journalist of the Daily Bangladesh Protidin and M Azizul Kader, CEO of Grey Goose English Studio conducted the course.
In his speech VC said, this is a good initiative that every children got chances to improve their skills and ability. He also assured that if Press Club sought out any kind of help from Chittagong University, CU authority was ready to extend cooperation.
The function was addressed by Kalim Sorower, President of Press Club, Mohosin Chowdhury, general Secretary, Shahidul Alam, Vice President of BFUJ, Moinuddin Kadery, Chairman of Co-operative Society, Miraz Uddin Raihan, Coordinator of the Course and Niropum Das, Vice President of Chittagong Union for Journalist.
