The biennial election of Chittagong Press Club was held on Tuesday.
Vote casting began from 9 am which continued upto 4 pm yesterday without any break. Election Commissioner of the election Omar Kaiser told that vote casting begins from 9 am for 15 office bearers where 41 candidates are contesting. About 215 voters casted their votes.The president candidates are seating President Ali Abbas, Asif Siraj, Kalim Sarwar, Jasim Chowdury and Rashed Rouf. 3 heavy weight candidates in the General Secretary post are immediate past General Secretary Mohsin Chowdhury, Rafiqul Bahar and Suklal Das.
The candidates in senior vice president are Kazi Mansur, Jamaluddin Yousuf, Khorshed Alam an Ratan Kanti devasish and the vice president candidates – Manzur Kader Manzu and Salahuddin Md. Reza. The candidates in joint secretary are Farid udddin chowdhury , Mohsin Kazi and Shahidul Islam. Four candidates in Treasurer post are – Rasid Mamun, Tapas barua, Md. Faruq and Jisu Roy. Three candidates in Cultural secretary a re- Nasiruddi n Haider, Bishwajit and Shahidullah Shahriar.
