The newly appointed Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority Commodore Zulfikar Aziz told that CPA will help to facilitate increase of exports target through this port. He disclosed it while exchanging views with the leaders of the BGMEA at CPA chairman’s office chamber on Monday.
First Vice President of the BGMEA Chittagong chapter Moinuddin Ahmed Minto led the delegation of the leaders. CPA chairman told them this pioneer port is playing vital role in increasing the exports . He said he will adopt a number measures to fulfill the demands of the garments sector in coming days.
He also said the unoperative gantry cranes will be repaired very shortly and new 6 cranes will be procured immediately which are expected to be in operation from November next. He further informed that in the newly proposed Bay terminal, construction of container yards in the process and primarily stage unstuffing of container consignment will be done in these yards.
The visiting BGMEA leaders urge the CPA authority to extend cooperation to garments sector on priority basis .CPA chairman thanked the BGMEA leaders and presented a bouquet to him at former’s office chambers, a CPA sources said.
