Former city Mayor and President of City Awami League Mohiuddin Chowdhury said at present Chittagong Port is confined under the custody of five dacoits.
He disclosed it while addressing the labourers’ rally at port area on Wednesday as chief guest. He said the port now turned into a den o mafia group and these mafia group are depriving the workers from their legitimate rights.
He said due to economic dacoity in the port, the image of the present govt is being jeopardized than before. He said the workers of CP are not beggars and their rights should be established , if necessary they will launch movement against the se dacoits, sources said. Mohiuddin Chowhdury said we want to create deadlock in port and beliefs in legal movement.
Vice president of city AL Khorshed Alam sujon also spoke in it and said hundreds acres of land are being dispossessioned by a unscrupulous quarters and the land of Laldiar char has been handed over to the mafia group, he added. Port labour leader Abdul Ahad presided the rally, sources said.
