Leaders of different socio-cultural organizations and professional bodies in Chittagong today continued to condemn the killing of innocent Palestinian people by Israeli air-strikes over the last few days.
The condemnation came from a human chain and rally at Chittagong Press club premises this morning.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said the attack in Gaza is not merely a war; rather it is a planned cold blooded murder to destroy the Palestinian generations.
The speakers termed the killings as a serious violation of human rights and said Israelis are trying to destroy generation after generation by spreading radioactive bombs on the unarmed children and women in Palestine.
Criticizing the role of the United Nations (UN) regarding the issue, they also said the UN now has turned into a failed organization as it is in profound sleep and silence for long.
The speakers also urged the international community to mount pressure on Israel to immediately to stop the heinous attacks on innumerable Palestinians.
They also hailed the Bangladesh government’s cabinet decision to denounce the genocide in Gaza. General Secretary (GS) of the Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) Hasan Ferdous, Engineer Delowar Mojumdar, Awami League leader Mafizur Rahman, journalists Samir Kanti Barua, Samaresh Baidya, Chowdhury Farid, Farukh Taher, ward councilor Rehana Kabir Ranu, Prof Alex Alim, cultural activists Dr Chandan Dhar, Sunil Dhar, Rashed Hasan and Ranjit Rakkhit, among others, spoke on the occasion.
