The classes at Peace School and College in Chittagong were suspended on Wednesday and guardians were asked to get students admitted to other institutions.
Kazi Mahfuzul Hoque, a teacher and school governing committee member, said the decision was taken following government’s plan to shut all “unapproved Peace schools and colleges”. “We have orally told the guardians of students to shift their children elsewhere,” he said.
More than 200 students were enrolled at the school, from play group to class V. The authority does not want to run the school by changing its name, said Mahfuzul.
