Ctg Marine Academy trained 4384 cadets in last 55 yrs

Shipping Minister Md. Shahjahan Khan said since inception of the Marine Academy in last 55 years, a total of 4384 cadets so far achieved training from this Marine Institute.
He disclosed it while addressing the passing out parade of 53rd batch of Nautical and Engineering branch .
 25 cadets in Nautical branch and 26 in engineering branch were given academic and regimental training certificates. Mentionable that Honours course in Nautical & Engineering branch were introduced in the only marine academy of the country . The newly introduced Bache,or of Maritime Science(Honours) completed 3rd batch in the meantime.
The minister also said our present govt is very much keen for development inland water tr ansport sector and the international maritime transportation to cope with the global maritime business. Secretary of the Ports & shipping ministry Md. Abdus Samad attended the parade as special guest. Cadet Nabila Nawar was awarded with President Gold Medal in the parade for her highest achievement in all subjects.
On the other hand Md. Zakaria and Aranur Hisbul were given President;s Sllver Medal for achieving highest marks in Nautical and Engineering branch respectively. In the parade programs, noted foreign and home shipping companies confirmed all cadets of 53rd batch for immediate employment in their companies.
