Chittagong Journalists’ Cooperative Housing Society Ltd, a sister concern of Chittagong Union of Journalists demanded mitigation of housing problems of the working journalists. The demand was announced at the annual general meeting of the society held at Chittagong Press Club Auditorium on Monday afternoon. President of CJCHSL Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat presided over it.
In his address Moinuddin Quadery said under clause 15 of the constitution of the country, govt is committed to resolve the accommodation, shelter, education and healthcare service of the citizens. He urged the govt to ensure the housing problems of the journos working in Chittagong .
General Secretary of the society Morshed Alam presented the annual report before the AGM . Among others, Omar Kaiser, Ejaz Yusufi, Kalim Sarwar, Sukhomoy Chakraborty, Jasim chowdhury Sabuj, Asif Siraj, Swapan Kumar Mallik, Tapan chakraborty, Md. Nizamuddin, Nazimuddin Samal, Shamsul Islam, Mohsin chowdhury, Kamaluddin Khokan spoke on the occasion. Vice president of the society Jalaluddin, Treasurer Nuruddin Ahmed, Directors Manzurul Alam Manzu and Didarul Alam were also present in it. The resolutions of the last general meeting and emergency g eneral meeting were approved in the meeting. The meeting also discussed the ongoing project activities of Kalpalok Media Tower and unanimously passed the agenda of the meeting to write the Cooperative office relating to irregularities of the builders for legal opinions as per reports of the probe committee that formed earlier on Media Tower Builders. The meeting also decided to built flat blocks in Shershah Journalists Housing society in city for the deprieved journos of the society, sources said.
