A fire broke out in a foam factory at Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone on the port city’s outskirts yesterday.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident. Assistant Director of Chittagong Fire Service Yeahia said the fire originated from a chemical explosion at Resources Foam & Accessories Limited at about 5:30 am damaging valuables.
Informed, three firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after two and a half hours of frantic efforts.
