Deputy commissioner of Chittagong Shamsul Arefin said to make tobacco-free Chittagong, regular mobile court will be conducted.
He disclosed it at the meeting of the newly formed District Task Force aimed at controlling the tobacco and tobacco products at District administration conference hall on Sunday . Among others, member-secretary and civil surgeon of Chittagong Dr. Azizur Rahman Siddiqui, deputy Civil surgeon , Director of Narcotics Control Deptt, Deputy director of Family planning, District primary Education officer, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation, chief medical officer of Port Hospital and City corporation, and members of YPSA Ngo duly presided by Deputy commissioner were present on the occasion.
The meeting unanimously decided to conduct mobile court in public places and public transports aimed at keeping free the non-smookers from the hazards of the tobacco.
In this connection, notices will be exhibitedin public places, passenger transports, bus terminals, rail stations, school and colleges to refrain from smooking and defaulters will be punished according to tobacco act, sources said.
