Consignments imported under bond facilities: Ctg Customs detain two covered vans

Customs Intelligence & Investigation Directorate vigilance team detained two covered vans loaded with imported garments accessories and clothes on Thursday midnight from city gate area in city .
The seized goods were imported under bond facilities abroad aimed at exporting the finished products . The detained consignment contains plastic raw materials and clothes. The approximate cost of these accessories is about Tk.2 crores, sorces said. Acting on secret information, CIID chittagong officials seized these two covered vans from city gate area onway destination of Dhaka.Deputy Director of CIID , Chittagong Shamimur Rahman told this correspondent that covered van bearing No.Dhaka Metro-TA 11-1542 loaded the plastic raw materials from from a factory in .Bahadarhat and the second one.
 No.Sylhet Metro-TA-11-0238 loaded cloth bundles from Terribazar area in city aimed at their destination in Dhaka . These raw materials imported under bond facilities of garments sector were sending to Dhaka for open market sale there, sources said.
 Both the covered vans detained after 2 a.m of Friday (midnight of Thursday). The drivers of these vans could not present any valid VAT challan, import documents etc and hence CIID detained the covered vans along with consignment on board. The drivers confessed that they loaded these garments accessories from different warehouse of the city in midnight aimed at delivery in Dhaka.
