Chattogram Customs House authorities have destroyed unusable and rotten 379 container products lying inside Chattogram port and various offdocks. Out of this, there were 153 containers in Chattogram port and 226 containers in different offdocks.
In this product destruction programme, which started from last August 11, there was supposed to be a total of 382 containers of products, but the products of two containers were destroyed before the 11th. Another container could not be brought to the City Corporation’s dumping station at Halishahar as it was non-handover.
Therefore, the customs authority completed the destruction of the goods of 379 containers except that container. According to customs sources, these containers contained onions, ginger, apples, dragon fruit, oranges, grapes, frozen fish, buffalo meat, fish food, salt, garlic, sunflower oil, coffee etc.
