Chittagong City Corporation Eleven and Chittagong Port Authority KS won their respective matches in the CJKS Ispahani Premier Division Cricket League at two separate venues in the port city of Chittagong on Thursday.
Chittagong City Corporation Eleven earned a five-wicket victory over Nimtola Lions Club at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium while Chittagong Port Authority KS beat Satadal Club by three wickets at the MA Aziz Stadium.
Sent into bat first at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Nimtola Lions Club scored 174 for all in 46.4 overs with Raihan Sharif making 45, Farhad Hossain 35 and Golam Sarwar 25 runs.
Nahidul Islam grabbed three wickets for 36 runs while Masum, Shahadat Sajjad and Raihan Arafat took two wickets each conceding 22, 27 and 34 runs respectively.
Chasing an easy target, City Corporation Eleven scored 176 runs for the loss of five wickets in 40.5 overs with Rubel Miah contributing 78 and Sadid Hossain 49 runs.
Nazmul Islam claimed three wickets for 42 runs while Mohammad Parvez bagged two for 36 runs.
At the MA Aziz Stadium, Satadal Club opened the innings first after winning the toss and piled up a moderate 238 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs featuring 135 runs in 25.1 overs in the opening stand.
Opener Saiful Islam contributed 80-ball 81 runs featuring six fours and four sixes while another opener Shamsuddin Bappa made 78-ball 59 runs with four fours and three sixes.
Morsalin Murad bowled superbly to capture six wickets for 29 runs.
In reply, Chittagong Port Authority reached their target making 244 runs for 7 in 45.1 overs with Enamul Haque scoring not out 59, Faisal Hossain 37 and Sadiqur Rahman 31 runs.
Morshed Alam bagged three wickets for 49 runs.
