President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mahbubul Alam said paying of VAT, Tax will be stopped if the govt fails to bring normalcy in the country. He said it is not possible for us to regain our losses so incured during the last blockade and hartal programmes of the BNP-led oppositions. He also said business community of Chittagong will enforce tougher movement in next if they are barred from smooth functioning of business.
He disclosed it while addressing the sit-in program of the Chittagong Business community infront of Chittagong chamber bhaban in agrabad area yesterday morning as chef guest.The theme of the sit-in program was ‘ Country is above all, Save Country, Save Economy’.
He also called upon the BNP chairperson Begum Zia to resolve the political crisis through discussions, dialogue etc or other political demands not through killing of innocent people by torching. The other speakers in the sit-in-program demanded revival of trade environment through political understanding between the oppositions and the govt immediately otherwise the economy of the country will be ruined.
The speakers also called the govt to take tough actions against the militants and anti-liberation forces . Leaders of Chittagong Women chamber of commerce, C&F agents, port users , business elites and small traders of the port city participated the sit-in program.
Meanwhile, a humanchain was formed at Jamalkhan cheragi pahar area yesterday morning against the violances of BNP-Jamaat as arranged by the dwellers of Jamal Khan ward area. The slogan of the human chain was Keep wheel of Economy Operative ‘. People of jamal khan irrespective of caste and creed .
