Chittagong City and District Awami League (AL) has chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14 and Victory Day on December 16.
To mark the Martyred Intellectuals Day, City AL will hoist black flags and keep the national and party flags at half-mast at party office of Darul Fazal Market during the dawn, paying tributes to Martyred Intellectuals by placing wreaths at Central Shaheed Minar at 7 am, placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the party office at 7.30 am.
The city AL will hold a discussion at its party office in the afternoon, Advocate Iftakher Saimul, law affairs secretary of city AL, said.
Former Mayor and President of City AL ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury is expected to chair the discussion while senior AL leaders in the city will join it.
The Victory Day programme of port city AL included hoisting of national and party flags at Darul Fazal market party office in the dawn, paying tributes to martyred at Shaheed Minar, placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at its party office.
To mark the day, the party will hold a discussion at Zila Parisad auditorium in the afternoon.
