Chittagong City Awami League (AL) and its front organizations today celebrated the 68th birth anniversary of its President and Bangabandhu’s Daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a befitting manner.
To mark the day Chittagong city AL organized a discussion meeting at the Central Shahid Minar yesterday evening.
Vice Presidents of Chittagong city AL Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury, Noyeem Uddin Chowdhury, Sunil Sarkar, General Secretary A Z M Nasir Uddin, AL leaders – Bodiul Alam, Advocate Iftaker Saimul Chowdhury and panel mayor Hasan Mahmud Hasni, among others, addressed the function.
The speakers in the discussion meeting urged all leaders and activists of Awami League to remain alert against conspirators who are out to foil the trial of war criminals.
They prayed for long and sound life of Sheikh Hasina to bring back smile on the faces of the teeming millions by eradicating hunger, poverty and illiteracy. The discussion was followed by an art competition for children and juvenile and a cultural function.
Earlier, city AL brought out a procession from Shaheed Minar premises at 5.40pm after cutting birthday cake.
Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chittagong city and Chittagong University Units also brought out separate processions from Chittagong Press Club premises yesterday afternoon.
The rallies ended at the same place after parading through different important city roads.
